What to expect
Your first class can be an exciting yet daunting prospect, maybe you have thought about trying a martial art for a while, maybe not, either way you are taking your first step! The instructor Jose will greet you along with the other students training that day, we are a friendly and welcoming group. Classes are tailored to the individual, so let the instructor know if you have any injuries or anything else to consider. Expect to feel worn out by the end of the class, but revitalised and up for more, this is the feeling most students have after their first class. In terms of practicality - just wear a t-shirt, comfy shorts/ trousers and trainers. It's important to bring a drink too, as we often have a much needed drink break halfway through class. |
Testimonials
A common misconception of martial arts is that you need prior fitness or experience in order to train - this is definitely not the case! Our students start from a desire to get fitter, learn more and better themselves. Take a look at some of the testimonials from our Horsham kung fu students...

"I brought my two boys along to Nam Pai Chuan Kung Fu in Horsham to build their confidence and to strengthen up. The sessions have done this and far more. Over the weeks they have grown in self confidence, encouraged by Jose's kind discipline and focus. They have respect for the training and enjoy the physical challenges set for them. I am thrilled by what they are achieving and know that this training system and code of ethics is of immense value for the future"

"I had wanted to study a martial art for many years, but could never find one which met all my requirements. NPC has a bit of everything, and has hugely improved my flexibility, fitness, strength, and perhaps more importantly to me, I have lost a significant amount of weight. It is also very good for improving self confidence. The classes are totally 'noob' friendly, and everyone is encouraged from the start to offer support and guidance to others. I have been a student for over a year now and I still start every class with the same amount of enthusiasm I had at my first session"

"I and my three children joined the club a few years ago and have found it a really rewarding activity to do as a family. Everyone who trains sees benefits in strength, fitness and flexibility. It has been a particularly positive experience for my kids in terms of confidence, discipline and focus as they work through the belts. There is a strong emphasis on fitness throughout which really appealed to me and I have found the classes a great release after a tough day at the office. I really think there is something for everyone in this enjoyable varied and inclusive martial art".

Adults
Horsham Shaolin Kung Fu adults classes are for ages 11 and upwards (there is no upper limit!).
Many adults want to improve their fitness but find that going to the gym or playing sport is not fulfilling enough.
Nam Pai Chuan Shaolin Kung Fu is a complex martial art with intricacies that take time and patience to perfect and can only be taught from an experienced instructor to a dedicated student.
Unlike some fitness classes where students are welcome to drop in when they like, we believe that in order to become a martial artist, regular training is essential and students should respect the value of the knowledge given. We invite new students to attend at least two or three sessions to experience the style of training we offer, before deciding whether to join one of our centres.
Our adult classes provide a focused, yet fun environment where adults can truly escape from the pressures of everyday life and learn a host of new mental and physical skills whilst learning a traditional Chinese martial art which is relevant to modern life.
